Wayfarer absolutely slaps.  It is a gem.
Seriously, the writing is a joy to read, the characters are a delight whether you love them or love-to-hate them, and the player character artfully walks the line between player-defined-personality and author-defined-personality with the player given just enough control that their choices feel meaningful without turning the player-character into a totally blank slate.
The UI is intuitive, the skill checks and the way they're handled (with an RNG "dice roll" element) makes the game almost feel like a little solo tabletop game, and just...  The amount of dedication and love that has gone into the creation of Wayfarer just oozes out of it everywhere I look.
I'm so extremely glad I picked it up, it's just incredible.
